Host Families All Chosen

Milwaukee Ulster Project is proud to announce that we have found all 16 host families for our visiting Northern Irish teens.  However, if anyone is interested for hosting in 2009, please check our Contacts page for the right information.

Former families and teens say many of the benefits of hosting include:

  • Formation of new, life-long friendships in both Milwaukee and Northern Ireland.
  • Improved understanding of the history and current state of Northern Ireland.
  • Increased awareness of peace, diversity and tolerance in your home communities.
  • Increased self-awareness, growth and personal challenges for the teen participants.
  • Involvement for the whole family in many activities.
  • Community service project experiences which benefit the local community and can enhance students' resumes.
  • Planned, fun, supervised social, educational and spiritual activities, e.g., Great America, service projects, worship services, "Discovery" sessions and more.
  • A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become part of the peace and reconciliation process in Northern Ireland and Milwaukee.
  • An experience that many alumni describe as the "best summer of their lives!"
